This inservice discusses the Hospice philosophy, Medicare Hospice
Benefit, describes the criteria for admission to the hospice program
and outlines the services available to the patient and the family.
This inservice explains principles of 'palliative care' and covers
pain, nausea/vomiting, and respiratory distress. Alternate comfort
measures are also discussed.
Wounds pose a challenge to the resident and staff. In this inservice
you will receive practical advice on treatment options, new supplies,
factors to promote wound healing and wound care techniques.

chance of developing osteoporosis.
