"The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out
"...the watchman went up to the roof of the gateway by the wall. As he looked out, he saw a man running alone."
Faith Hospice recognizes the vital role that churches and faith communities play in providing spiritual, social, and emotional support to their congregations and to the local community. Hospice care is an extension of the faith community’s ministry to person facing life-limiting illness. The Watchman Ministry is a way to bridge the needs of the faith community with the specialized services Hospice provides. The goal of the Watchman Ministry is to ensure awareness and understanding about Hospice through education and training. Each faith community is invited to identify at least one volunteer to serve as a Watchman within his or her congregation. Faith Hospice will provide ongoing education and information to prepare each Watchman Volunteer to be a knowledgeable spokesperson and to serve as a liaison between Hospice and the congregation.
